About Susan:

My yoga journey was a path of rediscovery. From the first class I took, I knew yoga would play a large role in my life; in fact, I closed my custom window treatment business that I owned for 25 years, to become a yoga teacher. I made that decision in 2009, and began my 200 hr Vinyasa certified teacher training with Gopi Kinnicutt of Sambandha Yoga.

Choosing to be a Yoga teacher was definitely the best life decision I’d made, this was to be my path of service. I wanted to further my Yoga education, so the following year I participated in a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Ann Saffi Biasetti. Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic practice that allows the mind to synchronize with the body through stillness and restores peace to stressed bodies. Restorative Yoga was inspired by B K S Iyengar and brought to the West by Judith Hanson Lasater.

I was still searching though for an active practice that was more grounding and my yoga journey lead me to Mark Kinder. I took several amazing workshops with Mark and noticed the level of relaxation I felt in mind and body after his classes, and knew I had found my personal practice in Hatha Yoga. So when Mark opened his studio at 2 Franklin Sq, and offered a 300 hour Hatha Yoga teacher training I quickly signed on and never looked back. December of 2012 I was certified through Yoga ED. to teach children’s yoga. September 2013 I was certified as a Thai Yoga Level one Teacher and certified as a Reiki Level 2 Practitioner in December 2015. I have taught community classes at the Stillwater Community Center, Continuing Ed in Saratoga Springs, and regularly scheduled classes at the Yoga Spa in Ballston Spa and Yoga Mandali in Saratoga Springs. From 2013 - 2020 I owned Namaste Yoga at 2 Franklin Square in Saratoga Springs NY.

To date I have over 2000 hours of teaching experience plus I continue my education with monthly online trainings that deepen my knowledge and understanding of the human body. With that expanded awareness I can better guide students towards their innate ability to heal.
